Herdon Capitol Challenge

Coach Hill's thoughts: Hayfield placed 5th out of 10 teams in this tough holiday tourney. DeMatha captured first place, followed by North Hunterton of NJ and North Stafford tied for 3rd. Western Branch of Chesapeake captured 4th place. Other participating teams were Kellum, Lee, Milford Del., and Herndon. 10 hawks medaled out of 11 starters entered in the tourney. Several J.V. wrestlers got their first taste of varsity competition as well. Seniors Mike Poliquin and Juan Sanchez reached the finals, Poliquin won in overtime.
